They have a luge relay! The whole concept of that event seems strange to me. But I also really liked it. That was a fun event the other day.
Our local news reported on the men’s curling match between the US and Norway and did not show the Norway team. Which considering that it was Norway seemed wrong. Then I had to pull up images of the team for Brett so he’d understand. I read somewhere that most people assume Norway won their matches because everyone always talks them and the news stories are always about them. Brett has decided you don’t have to be good if you have cool pants.
I really like the patchwork background at all the events. The diamond shapes and the fun variety of shades and patterns makes my quilters heart happy. I’d love to have a quilt that looked like that.
I was telling Brett that I like Noelle Pikus-Pace and he asked what she did. I said she’s an LDS skeleton. He thought that was taking baptisms for the dead a little too far. I got teary-eyed when she jumped the barrier to get to her family after her final run. Yea family!
And go Bode! That was a beautiful moment Sunday night.
I think I’m going to give up trying to explain the difference between ice dancing and pairs figure skating to Brett. But then I’ve only been at it for a week.
We are loving the Olympics. And Noelle Pikus-Pace is one of my favorites. I loved the advice she gave to the youth.
Also I read where the social media jumped all over the reporter who kept questioning Bode Miller about his brother. And they thought NBC should not have kept the camera on him during his melt down. YEA! I have thought the reporters have been insensitive to people who didn’t medal. And also to the private feelings of the people.
The social media might not have liked the reporter, but Bode had different thoughts. I’ll go with him on this since he’s the only one in a position to say anything.
Bode Miller on NBC reporter: ‘I don’t blame her at all’ for emotional interview
I thought the pants that the Russians wore for curling were a little much, but to my surprise Dad liked them. 😉
After watching other events, it looks like wild pants are in this year. 😀
Don’t worry, the Winter Games come every four years. I have plenty of learning opportunities left. :brett:
I got teary during Noelle’s jump into the stands when I watched the first time and pretty much every time they replayed it for the rest of the games.
