I’m bound and determined to cook original meals for as long as I can. And it’s kind of fun.
Last week I cooked some chicken in the crock pot. I got the idea from a former roommate on her site – A Charmed Life: Roasted Herbed Chicken with Lemon Slow Cooker Recipe From Crock-Pot. I used five chicken breasts and sliced the lemon and put them on top of the chicken. I used three potatoes because that’s all we had. And then since I don’t like green beans (icky texture and my dad says they are poisoned), I put green onions in it. I seasoned it with pepper, garlic, and some chicken bouillon. It was super yummy.
Last night I made homemade pizza. We used the bread stick recipe I got from another former roommate many many years ago. We put garlic powder, basil, and oregano in the dough. The recipe made enough to make a cookie sheet sized pizza. Then we topped it with tomato sauce, salami, Canadian bacon, peperoni, pineapple, tomato slices, and lots of cheese. It was super super yummy!
Both of them made great leftovers for our lunches too.
I’d almost forgotten the potato soup we made a couple of weeks ago too. It was real good. I’d found a whole website of potato soup recipes. We’re going to have to try a few other ones.
Keep up the good work. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE homemade pizza. I mean I really LOVE it. I don’t know if I have empasized how much I LOVE homemade pizza, but I do. And your toppings sound especially good. Now you’ve got me wondering if I have those on hand to satisfy a pizza craving, gotta go…
I’m certainly enjoying Lisa’s quest. And my entire family is impressed at how “domesticated” she is. :penguin:
This week we’re trying different recipes from the crock pot book I got from my family at my shower. Hopefully tonight’s will be good.
