There are things a person wonders about from time to time but never cares enough about to actively go searching for the answer. This weekend the stars aligned so that I could find one of those answers.
Thursday I started catching what would turn out to be an amazingly nasty cold. Thursday the Kleenex box in the front bathroom also ran out. I’ve often wondered if I had colds bad enough that I could use an entire box of Kleenex all on my own. But the start of a cold, the start of a new box, and my ability to completely monopolize the use of said box, never worked out before. At 5:30 this morning I pulled the last Kleenex out of a box of 160 count. That means I averaged 40 a day. Yikes! At 7:30 I started box #2. I’m hoping this thing passes before I finish the second box. But now I no longer need to wonder if I ever use that many Kleenex again.
Now I’m wondering what it is about orange juice that makes it taste so incredibly good when you are sick.
Here are some things other people have wondered about and been a little bit more active in finding the answers to:
- What would swimming in a swimming pool on the moon be like? This has to be one of my favorite “What If?” questions and answers in a while, and I generally like them all.
- Active Sun at Birth Cut Historical Life Spans. Speaking of stars aligning, this is a rather interesting study. Historically, before multivitamins were invented, the more solar flares there were while you were a fetus could cut your life span by up to 5 years and cause fertility problems for women born during those times.
- Maybe music isn’t so universal. I’m kind of intrigued by a culture that only uses music for happy things and can’t comprehend sad music.
- Taking what you have and making the most of it – blood into biogas. Talk about being resourceful! This is awesome. I’m so glad there are people willing to invest in projects like these that can really make a huge difference in the lives of so many.
What things have you wondered about recently?
Well, I have, never worried or wondered about any of those things. When the weather warms up I will wonder and worry why people will drink too much and then come play golf, and hit our house and my husband. How’s that.
There’s a lot about golf to wonder about. :lisa:
Well, dodging golf balls is more down it EARTH, and HITS me where I live, and is more likely to happen than my chances of swimming on the moon. :w00t:
I remember talking at school about how music wasn’t actually universal, so this is really interesting!
You really have an active mind. I have never thought of those things.
I would just like to know how a synapse produces a conscious thought. :brett:
Just keep thinking about it. :lisa:
