Except, that’s as far as I tend to get.
Monday I listed “more completions” as one of the things I would like out of 2013.
I’ve discovered that I seem to have a personality issue that lets me start projects but never finish them. It’s extended from what were just sewing projects (more than I can count, definitely enough to keep me busy for YEARS), to knitting projects and house projects.
Starting a project is exciting. But the last bits of most projects are boring to me. I don’t like weaving ends in on knitting. I don’t like the hand sewing required for the end of quilting projects. And I always assume that a project will take less time than it actually does so I run out of time at the end, getting over half way through with something before I have to go do something else, like sleep.
The past few years I have successfully set the goal to finish more old sewing projects than new ones. It’s worked great. I need to do the same with knitting projects. And since I have some new projects coming down the pipe this year, I really need to get busy on my old projects. I need to keep in mind how great it feels to actually finish something.
Now you understand my relationship with books. :brett:
And mine with doing the dishes. 🙂
Dishes is actually a project I hope I never finish. I would like to die with dirty dishes in the sink. :lisa:
My Mother wouldn’t go to bed until the dishes were done. She said she had to do them because what if the firemen came and found dirty dishes in the sink.
