This week I officially started working with elementary kids for my dissertation. It feels good to have that rolling. It’s involved several iterations of various lists, moving chairs around, and a lot of copies. I haven’t worked with elementary kids since January of 2008. I’m a little bit rusty. But they are good kids and this will be a lot of fun. I actually think it takes more courage to teach elementary students than college students. Elementary students are much more truthful in how they feel.
Half my college students eagerly accepted a sticker in class today for doing a good job. That made me smile. Some people never get too old to recognize the value of a sticker.
There are a few boxes I have not opened since moving to Tucson. The bulk of them are from my elementary classroom. This week I opened one of them, the one that had most of my holiday decorations (I opened that one on purpose). There are now piles of fall leaves on the bulletin board outside my office and the one over my desk. It makes me very happy.
We went to Taco Bell for dinner tonight on our way to our second football game working chains. It is the 16th of September after all.
And now, after a very long week, I’m definitely going to enjoy a BYU football game tomorrow.
Yes, Go Fight Win, BYU. :woot:
Even Relief Society Ladies seem to like stickers.
Too bad you didn’t enjoy the BYU game as much as you could have. It was almost hard to watch. No almost hard about it — it was hard to watch.
Also what is the significance of tacos on Sept. 16?
September 16th is the day celebrated as Mexican Independence from Spain.
