People in Utah are complaining about the heat here recently. It’s been 100 or just above for almost a week. Maybe I’m just in a bad mood, but I want to tell them to just shut up about it. 🙂 Poor them stuck with just a swamp cooler instead of central air. They must have forgotten about all the people who have lived in heat like this in the past without even an electric fan, and all the people in the world who still do. Heat is manageable if you know how. I haven’t turned on my swamp cooler in over two years.
I grew up in heat. In El Paso it would start hitting 100 usually around May, and we’d have it pretty much through September. So you learn to live with it. You keeps your blinds closed during the day. I keep my windows open just slightly so that any breeze will come through. You also don’t go out during the day. You’re crazy to go out between noon and probably 5, that’s the hottest part of the day. We would do anything we had to do in the morning before it got too hot, or in the evening around sunset or later. Cold liquid, water, lemonade, gatorade, are all great for the heat.
I love the heat. I’m finally warm and comfortable with the weather as it has been recently. Once you are used to the heat, it really doesn’t bother you. Normally I’m too cold here, so this has been nice.
I can’t remember who I was talking to but they were complaining that in Arozona or Texas that it was so hot that the kids couldn’t go to the park and play in the day time. I told them them that of course not they would burn them selves on the slide so that’s why you went in the evening when it was nice and they thought I was crazy and I thought they were.
