Hoje faz dez anos que entrei no CTM para servir uma missão. Eu não podia imaginar como os dezoito meses a sequir poderia influenciar a minha vida e tudo que eu aprenderia. A primeira coisa que aprendi foi a orar em portugûes. Desde então continuo a fazer as minhas orações pessoais em portugûes. Agora a língua portugûesa é a língua de oração para mim. Aprendi o que significa “descansado,” porque foi descansado em corpo, mente, e espírito. Aprendi quem sou eu. Aprendi meu relacionamento com Deus.
Foram dezoito meses muito bom. Mas não foram os melhores de minha vida. Os último dezoito meses foram os melhores de minha vida. E os dezoito a seguir agora serão ainda melhor. Os próximos dez anos serão útimo!
It is ten years today since I entered the MTC to serve a mission. I could not imagine how the following eighteen months would influence my life and all I would learn. The first thing I learned was how to pray in Portuguese. Since then I continue to say all of my personal prayers in Portuguese. Portuguese is the language of prayer for me now. I learned what “tired” means, because I was tired in body, mind, and spirit. I learned who I am. I learned my relationship with God.
The eighteen months were very good. But they weren’t the best of my life. The last eighteen months were the best of my life. And the eighteen that follow now will be even better. The next ten years will be great!
I am an educator and PhD. I quilt, belly dance, run, read, and try to grow things. I am a Mormon. I am infertile. I am a daughter, sister, aunt, grand-daughter, friend, wife, and mom.

Feliz aniversario! 10 years, I can hardly believe it. Who knew all that we would learn? I am sure grateful that I served and that I was able to meet you! And you are so right about the next 10 years!
