Ever play that game where you wonder how your life would be different if you’d made a different decision at some point along the way?
What if I’d gone to a different school?
What if I’d chosen a different major?
What if I’d accepted that job instead of that one?
Generally when we think of those things, we think in terms of the big events in our lives. Brett and I were thinking about several of those possibilities in his life this past weekend.42D
But what about those little decisions? As we were talking, I mentioned one that at the time was so small as to be almost unnoticeable.
What if he hadn’t responded to that email?
I almost choked saying it. Would we have met some other way? Would we have found happiness with someone else and never known each other?
In the end, I’m grateful he did. That one small decision has changed SO many things, large and small.
What do you know? I’m cleaning out my marked news articles and I come across this one in Scientific American – What If I’d Never Met My Husband.
i agree. jason and i have a similar thing… it was a seemingly meaningless change in my plans when we met for the first time. but it’s made ALL the difference! i’m glad he answered that email!
