And it officially is hot. We officially hit 100 degrees for the first time in 2009 today. Almost two weeks earlier than last week according to what I wrote down.
I thought it was hot today.
Now all of you people who were complaining about snow last month can just enjoy your snow. This is what we get for the next five months or so.
And here’s my weather.com temperature do-dad thing showing it for the first time this year (weather.com actually says it is 101 outside right now, and that it also feels like 101):
I’m going to need more ice cream.
From the newspaper today:
Let the scorching begin.
Tucson officially hit 100 degrees for the first time this year at 1:53 p.m. today, according to temperature data monitored by the National Weather Service.
The arrival of triple digits comes 19 days before the average start (May 26) of 100-degree days in Tucson since local records were first kept in 1894. It’s also 12 days earlier than we first hit 100 in 2008, which didn’t occur until May 19.
This year’s first triple-digit occurrence is tied with 1895 for the sixth-earliest. The earliest its ever happened was in 1989, when it hit 100 on April 19 of that year.
I just want it to stop raining. I have a new bike to ride!
Fahrenheit?
Yup. It’s hot enough to cook an egg out, but not boil water, yet.
I was not mentally prepared for it to be this hot yet.
Yikes! And here I was complaining about the 90 degree weather we had last week. It is back down to 80 degree weather now, much more manageable. Stock up on the ice cream, I hope you survive.
