You need opposable thumbs to write, and I don’t have two of those right now. But I do like to write. These are my favorite things to write with. I’m a bit particular with what I use too.
For highlighters I like to use Sharpie in yellow, none of that fluorescent junk. When I find them I usually buy several because most places only sell the fluorescent ones.
When I’m highlighting in my scriptures though I use Zebra Zazzle ones. They have clear ink barrels and a water-based ink, so you can watch the ink swish around in there and it’s fun.
If I’m writing with a pencil, I like using wood pencils. I have some brown Paper Mate ones I really like, the American Naturals ones. The wood pencils just feel more real when you are writing with a pencil. I do have some mechanical ones I keep in my bag because they don’t break or need sharpening. For those ones I use Bic Velocity pencils. I like the comfort grip. I have the 0.9 ones. The thicker led feels more like the wood pencils.
I bought a package of Bic MarkIt pens last summer. They are nice markers. They bleed through regular paper, but they have fun colors and are great for other craft things.
For normal pens I like Bic Atlantis pens. They have a good ink, they’re retractable, and they have a little soft area where you hold it while you are writing.
When I’m writing in my journal though I want something a bit more elegant. So I use Staedtler pigment liner, 0.3 for that. They have a smooth feel to them and they are acid free. I also buy these in small bulk when I see them so I never run out.
And, of course, if I’m doing anything with crayons, colored pencils, or regular markers, I’m using Crayola. Anything else just isn’t worth it.
And those are a few of my favorite things. Non-writing favorite things coming later.
I prefer mechanical pencils. I can’t write with a pencil if it isn’t sharp. Still working on finding a pen I prefer, but it’s not ballpoint, I assure you. Too bad that’s all I can find around my home or office right now.
If you don’t like ballpoints, I highly recommend the Staedtlers. They’re great pens.
Oooh. You might be right.
