While I was in Brasil, one of my companions and I started saying “mais bençãos” (more blessings) whenever anything would happen, especially things that might have seemed like something bad. The idea was that we would be blessed in our suffering. It was a good way to keep a positive outlook on everything. It became a bit of a joke with us.
But it has been true my whole life. I am looking back at my life right now (a thirtieth birthday, a milestone of decades like today, can make me a bit reflective) and seeing what I have done, where I have been, the things I have seen and learned, and all the people I know, and I can truly say I am blessed. Even those things that at that time were hard, difficult, and I couldn’t see how any good could come from it, looking back they have been a blessing of some kind.
I want to thank all of you who have been a blessing in my life. Your friendship, what you have taught me, have been beautiful gifts in my life.
I am grateful for all the blessings and gifts from God in my life, those I can name, and those I cannot. My life is very blessed.
