My diploma for my Masters degree arrived in the mail. I actually wasn’t expecting it for a while still, considering how long it took them to do some of the other paperwork. What struck me about the document though was what has been conferred on me along with the degree, namely the rights, honors, and responsibilities associated with the degree. It’s the word “responsibilities” in particular that stood out. It seems like my mind was expecting the word “privileges” there instead. I’ll have to ponder some on what exactly my responsibilities are now that I have this degree.
